I Wish I Had Seen This Live!

I missed this on Saturday night, but it is great. My thanks to Caffeinated Thoughts for posting it after they saw it. My wife and I got quite a laugh out of a well done performance.

I got a good laugh out of that. I'm glad to see McCain making the best of all the abuse. I liked the Palin skit on SNL a couple weeks ago as well.

On a more serious note, however, American politics started down a "slippery slope" to borrow a term from you, the day Bill Clinton got on a stage with a saxophone and danced around to Fleetwood Mac. Whatever dignity there once was had fled from presidential politics. It's now become an elaborate, very expensive, and somewhat less entertaining edition of American Idol. We vote for whovever we think will be the coolest world leader. I'm mortified by how shallow we've become.

You make a great point Laurie. Our culture has become shallow on most fronts. You have to wonder what people in other countries think of our political leaders doing stand up.

I remember well Clinton on Arsenio Hall, it was a turning point of how Americans could look at a presidential contender.
