Fire and Rhinestone

Men are not normally comfortable talking about sexuality, usually worrying about saying something that will expose us as the gutter dwellers most assume we are. I am no exception to that rule.

So I figured a safe approach was one that was biblical in nature and short in duration. So I will quote an interesting passage in Scripture that I believe shows that God does not have a problem with our sexuality, given it takes place in a one man, one woman marital relationship:

7"Your stature is like a palm tree,
And your breasts are like its clusters.
8"I said, 'I will climb the palm tree,
I will take hold of its fruit stalks.'
Oh, may your breasts be like clusters of the vine,
And the fragrance of your breath like apples,

Song of Solomon 7:7-8 (NASB)

It is pretty descriptive language. So I will leave it at that. Saying anything else is likely to get me into trouble as the gutter animal most would assume I am under the surface.

This made me laugh. (And Barry's comment too.)

The really interesting thing about that passage is that most likely the two weren't married. The Zondervan commentary on the Song is SO AMAZING, as it reconsiders the terms of the book. Whereas it has traditionally been seen as a dialog between Solomon and one of his brides, it is more likely a dialog between one of his brides and her original lover (who she had before being whisked away and put in the royal "crowd").

Kind of cool, huh? Though I don't know if this helps or hurts your g.a. status. : )

It is cool, but probably doesn't help the baser instincts of the sinful flesh that it be of a desire out of the terms of a God desired union.
