Surprise!

Yesterday evening we hosted a surprise party for a friend who turned 40. (I remember 40 like it was 13 years ago...because it was). We figured he was expecting it so the plan was to invite him for dinner and have him think this was the party. He showed up and we had a cozy little dinner laid on.

Once he was in the house, we had all the attendees show up in a staging area over at a neighbor's home. When they had assembled over they came and we made him get the door for us. Sort of a reverse surprise.

I think it worked. I like being devious on occasion.

My Birthday Presents

My wife got me some cool Bose speakers to put on my desk to plug into my laptop. Great sound.

She also got me this book carousel from Levenger. I needed more bookshelf space and this is a much better fit in the mancave that a bookshelf. Two high, I may go three someday and maybe a second tower next to the first. Give the cave a sort of power plant look.

My bride, she treats me well. Much better than I deserve. I definitely married up, way up.

Surprise Birthday Gift

My wife bought me a surprise birthday gift, a Franklin library stand for my study (aka man cave). The surprise was not the gift, she had me look at it before she ordered it.

The surprise is in the fact that my birthday is in March. so is it an early or a late birthday gift. She will not say. So I may not be surprised until next Spring.

But I do so love her for thinking of me for no apparent reason other than she loves me.

Imagine that.
